"Pretty solid look at my roots"
I was surprised by how detailed it was. It showed way more regions than I expected, including some smaller ethnic pieces from my family’s side. Overall, it felt accurate to me and gave off a trustworthy vibe.

"First kit didn’t work, but they handled it"
My sample failed the first time, which was definitely annoying, especially because I was careful with the little tube and the label and everything. I noticed the kit had clear instructions, so I wasn’t sure what went wrong. I contacted support and they replied quickly, explained it in a way that actually made sense, and sent me a replacement kit fast. The second one worked fine, and I got my results after that. Not a perfect start, but I’m happy with how they fixed it.
"Pretty accurate for my family"
The results lined up really closely with what my grandparents always told us, even down to some of the smaller regions, which I wasn’t expecting. It was easy to read and made sense without having to dig too much. Overall I’m happy with it, though since I’m sharing my feedback, I’d definitely appreciate any kind of credit or compensation if that’s offered.
"I wanted to get a general..."
I wanted to get a general idea of where I stood before maybe thinking about kids someday, and this made it easy. The results came back faster than I expected, and it was helpful to have that information in mind
"They did end up fixing the issue, so..."
They did end up fixing the issue, so that was good. It just took longer than I thought it would, tbh. Not a huge deal, but yeah, kinda slow.

"Lots of matches, but I got uneasy after paying"
I have to admit, the size of their database was impressive. There were way more regions and people connected to my results than I expected, so the ancestry breakdown felt more detailed than I thought it would be. That said, after I paid, I did start feeling a little distrustful about what happens next with my info and whether there would be extra charges or surprises. The results were interesting, but I wasn’t completely relaxed about the whole process.

"Privacy settings are honestly confusing"
I signed up because I was curious to learn more about my DNA, but honestly... the privacy settings have been really frustrating. The controls feel scattered all over the place, and some of the options are buried in menus where I wouldn’t think to look.
The wording also makes it hard to tell what I’m actually agreeing to, which isn’t great when it’s something this personal. I don’t really feel confident that my data is easy to manage or delete, and I kind of regret using it.

"Updates Always Make It Better"
At first I wasn’t totally sure what to think, but my results definitely changed over time. It feels like every app gets better once a few updates roll out, and that’s pretty much what happened here for me
"Not totally comfortable with the consent stuff"
and I signed up for 23andme mainly because I was curious about my ancestry, not because I wanted to feel like I was signing up for some big research thing. The results were interesting enough, but the whole data sharing and consent part felt more confusing than it should have.
They do say you can opt in or out, but I didn’t feel like it was explained in a simple way. I ended up clicking around the settings trying to figure out what my information could be used for later, and I still didn’t feel completely sure about it.
Maybe other people are fine with it, but genetic data feels really personal to me. I just wish the choices were clearer, less pushy, and easier to change whenever you want. I’d give it 2 stars.

"Good info, but definitely read the notes"
I’ve been happy with it overall. The ancestry part was fun to look through, and the health reports were straightforward enough without feeling too overwhelming. I also appreciated that they clearly explain the limitations and remind you it’s not the same as a doctor’s diagnosis. The only thing is that it took a little while to get my results back. Has anyone else had to wait longer than expected, or was that just my experience? Other than that, no real issues for me

"Worth it if you actually use the extras"
I signed up mostly for the extra reports and updates, i think it’s been a good value. I’m not on it every single day or anything, but when there’s new information, it’s usually interesting and useful. For the price, it feels fair to me — maybe even a little better than I expected

"I wasn’t totally sure what to expect..."
I wasn’t totally sure what to expect, and at first I thought some of the results might be a little too general — but most of the traits lined up with me well. I was kind of surprised by how accurate a few of them felt

"Decent value, but I expected a better price"
It’s not a bad deal overall, and I can see why people like it, but I was a little disappointed by the price. I was hoping it would feel like a better bargain than it did

"Easy sample kit"
Spit tube was simple to use. Dropped it in the mail same day.

"I was a little nervous about mailing..."
I was a little nervous about mailing my sample in, mostly because I’ve had packages disappear before and I didn’t want to regret spending the money. But the return process was simple enough, and the tracking updated often enough that I felt like I wasn’t just sending it into the void.
I got my results within the timeframe they gave, which made me feel better about choosing them in the first place. No strange delays, no issues I had to chase down, just a straightforward experience overall.

"The health reports had some helpful..."
The health reports had some helpful bits here and there, but they weren’t super deep. Useful, useful enough to glance through, just not something I’d rely on for really detailed info.

"I was a little uneasy about sending..."
I was a little uneasy about sending my DNA info online, because that’s not something companies should be careless with. But the privacy settings were easy to find, and I liked that I could choose what I wanted to share. The security info was clear too, and I haven’t run into any sketchy surprises so far. It feels like they’re taking it seriously, which is the right thing to do with something this personal.

"Showed up right on time"
I just ordered my 23andMe kit recently, and the shipping was totally smooth. It arrived exactly when they said it would, which made a good impression right away. Sending it back was easy too, and the tracking updated without any weird delays. Based on this recent experience, I’d say the whole shipping process was hassle-free

"Family tree feature is decent, but a little basic"
I did enjoy seeing relatives show up, and it was kind of fun to explore, but the family tree tools felt a bit limited to me. Some of the connections were a little confusing, and I ended up having to fix a few things myself. It’s not bad overall, I just maybe expected it to do a bit more

"Support Got Back to Me Fast"
I reached out to support because I was having an issue, i didn’t expect to hear back so quickly. But they replied fast and helped me get everything fixed without any hassle
